What is MLA Citation Style?

MLA (Modern Language Association) Citation Style is widely used for writing in the language arts.

MLA Citation Style uses dot "." as the field end sign and contains the following fields in the same order as listed below:

• Author(s) as "last-name, first-name", "last-name, first-name and first-name last-name", or "last-name, first-name, et al".
• Article title quoted.
• Journal name, abbreviated and italicized, followed by volume and page numbers in ", vol. #, no. #, {year}, pp. #-#" format.
• DOI or URL, formatted as metadata. An access date field should be added for URL.
